Campus Facilities

Wayo's modern and convenient campus of the East and the South buildings, high-rise towers where the majority of classrooms, laboratories, dining halls, student information plaza, and faculty and staff offices are located. Most facilities are designes for wheelchair access. The West Building, connected to the East Tower by a sky bridge, is home to the Academic Resource Center, computer classrooms, and 300-seat Audio Visual Auditorium. All three buildings have conference rooms, computer-equipped student work spaces, and refreshment areas. The newest building is the Early Childhood Education Building that consists of classrooms and experiential play areas for students who are preparing to become certified kindergarten teachers. The 2,000-seat main auditorium is located in a separate building adjacent to the gymnasium and tennis courts. Student club rooms and the health center are located in the Student Union Building.

Classrooms and Research Laboratories

Most of the classrooms at Wayo are spacious and modern with audio visual and computer connections. There are also specialized laboratories for chemical and food-related research and test kitchen for instructional use in the South Building and computer labs for students with self-learning systems in the West Building.

Dining

Wayo has excellent dining facilities for full meals or snacks. The Southern Cross Dining Lounge is located on the 18th floor of the East Building. With 180º scenic views of Mt. Fuji, the Edo River, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Sky Tree, and the surrounding metropolitan area, it is a fine place to relax while dining. Healthy, inexpensive meals are served from 11:30am to 2pm Monday through Saturdays. The Southern Cross is closed on Sundays, holidays, and between school terms.

A larger cafeteria is located in the South Building. Daily specials and standards such as ramen and soba are served daily from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Saturdays. The cafeteria is closed on Sundays, holidays, and between school terms.

A third cafeteria and bakery are located in the Student Union Building. Hot meals and take out foods are available from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Saturdays. The cafeteria is closed on Sundays, holidays, and between school terms.

Vending machines for drinks and snacks are located in the Student Union Building, in the basement of the West Building, and in various outdoor locations around campus.

Bookstore

A branch of Kinokuniya Bookstore is located in the Student Union. Students can purchase textbooks, magazines, study supplies, sundries, as well as snacks. The bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The bookstore is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and between school terms.

Student Union Building

Supporting activities and student life, the Student Union Building has club rooms, the Student Affairs Office, the health center, the counseling office, the concierge and a recreation room.

Sports Facilities

A gymnasium with indoor pool, sports courts, and training rooms located on campus. There are also outdoor tennis courts.

Sakura Seminar House

Sakura Seminar House is located in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. This architectural award-winning facility has a training building, accommodations for about 100 people, a stylish dining room, Japanese-style bath, and extensive grounds. The furnishings are also beautiful and fashionably designed. Sakura Seminar House contains a fully equipped audio/visual theater and a private conference room with mini kitchen. Students gather here for special classes, training camps, and club activities.

Dormitories

Two dormitories are available for students who live away from home and for exchange students when space is available. Both single and double-occupancy dormitory rooms are furnished and have private bathrooms and internet access. Delicious and well-balanced meals are cooked on-site at breakfast and dinner, Monday through Saturday. Students are responsible for their own lunches every day and all meals on Sundays and holidays. Common facilities for all residents to share include a laundry room, dining room, multipurpose rooms and bicycle parking. A manager resides at each dormitory to assist residents.

Yawata Dormitory

Yawata Dormitory has 50 rooms for single or double occupancy. It is located 4Km southeast of Wayo and the commute time is approximately 25 minutes by train.

Mizue Dormitory

Mizue Dormitory has 48 single rooms. It is located 7km south of Wayo and the commute time is approximately 30 minutes by train.
